Dan Owens joined VonLehman & Company Inc. in 1983 and has worked in both the Ft. Mitchell and Cincinnati offices. He received his Masters of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the College of Wooster, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors.
Mr. Owens’ expertise lies in meeting the accounting, audit, tax, and consulting needs of closely-held businesses, their owners, and not-for-profit organizations. He has extensive experience in the construction, manufacturing, not-for-profit and governmental industries. Dan performs peer reviews on other CPA firms and is Chairman of VonLehman's Construction/Real Estate Service Group. Mr. Owens is also a member of the firm's Quality Control and Human Resources Committees and is active in VonLehman's Not-for-Profit/Governmental Service Group.
Mr. Owens is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, and assists in writing exam questions for and proctoring the certification exam administered by The Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals. He serves as a writer and proofreader for the CPAmerica construction industry newsletter, Building for Success, and has also written for Inside the Institute, the newsletter published by The Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals. Mr. Owens is a frequent speaker on construction accounting and tax related issues.
